MyAIFactChecker provides tools that help users assess claims and online information. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the MyAIFactChecker website and Chrome extension.
Information We Process
When you use MyAIFactChecker, we may process the claim, statement, webpage text, or other content that you voluntarily submit for fact-checking.
The Chrome extension may also process text that you explicitly select on a webpage and submit to MyAIFactChecker. The extension does not automatically collect all content from webpages you visit.
How We Use Information
Submitted content is used to generate fact-checking results, including authenticity assessments, explanations, confidence scores, sentiment analysis, and supporting sources.
We may also use limited technical information to maintain security, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve service reliability.
Chrome Extension Data
The MyAIFactChecker Chrome extension only sends content to our API after a user takes an explicit action, such as entering a claim, pasting text, or selecting webpage text and choosing to fact-check it.
Preferences and saved fact-check results may be stored locally in the user's browser using Chrome storage. This locally stored information is not sold to third parties.
Third-Party Services
MyAIFactChecker may use third-party artificial intelligence, search, hosting, analytics, or infrastructure providers to process submitted claims and return relevant results. Information is shared only as necessary to operate the fact-checking service.
Data Retention
Submitted claims and associated technical logs may be retained for a limited period for security, debugging, service improvement, and abuse prevention. We aim to retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes.
Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell users' personal information. We do not use submitted information for unrelated advertising purposes.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information transmitted to MyAIFactChecker. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
MyAIFactChecker is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent.
Your Choices
You may choose not to submit personal or sensitive information for fact-checking. You may also remove locally saved extension results through the extension interface or browser settings.
